IMPORTANT NOTICE  19.6.15

It has just been confirmed that work will commence on our long awaited extension on 13th July 2015.  From this date the Doctors, reception and waiting areas will be situated in Portakabins in our current car park.  The nurses rooms will still be in the main building and will be accessed via the green door that opens onto Bancroft.  Patients seeing the nurses will need to book in at reception in the Portakabins and then go through the front door as above to wait to be seen.

We will try to keep disruption to our services to a minimum and apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.  We expect the works to take approximately 8 months.

STAFF MEETINGS

Surgery will be closed every last Wednesday of the month between 12.30pm and 1.30pm for staff meetings/training.  The dates for 2016 are as follows:

27th January, 24th February, 30th March, 27th April, 25th May, 29th June, 27th July, 31st August, 28th September, 26th October, 30th November and 28th December.

A full appointment system is operated. Early morning appointments from 7.00 – 8.30 and afternoon appointments can be booked in advance. Appointments from 8.40am to 10.20am and 3.45 to 3.55 pm are allocated on the day only (except Saturdays).

Test Results
If you have had a blood, urine or X-ray test it is important to check with us for the result. Please telephone after 10.30am as the phone lines are usually too busy earlier to deal with such enquiries.

Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.

By giving us as much notice as you can you are helping us to make sure that someone else is given your slot.

Welcome to Orford Lodge Surgery

doctor_baby_girlThe practice is a long established partnership of five doctors offering a full range of primary care medical services at a modern surgery in central Hitchin.

The practice area includes all of Hitchin and the villages of Charlton, Gosmore, Holwell, Ickleford, Langley, Offley, Pirton, Preston, St. Ippollyts, and the Wymondleys.  Each patient has a doctor who is accountable for their care, which is the same doctor they are registered with.

The partners work closely with a full primary health care team of allied professionals including nurses and health visitors. This practice is now part of the East and North Herts CCG.
